SERVICE TIME HAS CHANGED TO 1:00 P.M.

Jacquin J. Thomas, 95, of East Greenwich, formerly of Bristol, died peacefully on March 25, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Home.  Born in Celina, OH, she was the daughter of the late Darwin S. Thomas and Ellen M. (O’Brien) Remo.

Jackie was the loving mother of her six children, whom she raised with her former husband, Joseph F. Wolf, in Edgewood, RI.

In her 40s she attended URI, where she proudly graduated with her bachelor’s degree in 1974.  Afterward, she acquired a job working for the State of Rhode Island as a legislative liaison for the Department of Elderly Affairs, crafting many state laws pertaining to elder abuse and age discrimination.  Following her retirement she became a real estate agent in Bristol.  She also volunteered at the Barrington Senior Center, installing emergency dialers.

Jackie was an avid reader and enjoyed completing the Sunday crossword in the New York Times.  A woman of faith, she was active in her church and community.  During the 1960s she was an interfaith community leader.  Later in life she was a Communicant of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Bristol where she served on the Vestry and as a lay Eucharistic Minister.

A proud, lifelong Democrat, Jackie sought change when she saw injustice in the world.  She marched through the streets of Boston with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in 1965, she stood on many picket lines and enjoyed volunteering her time.  She truly left the world a better place than she found it.

She is survived by her loving children: Judith L. Wolf & her husband William Healey of North Kingstown, Nancy E. Wolf & her husband John J. Jaworski of Upton, MA, The Rev. Max J. Wolf & his wife Olly of Nantucket, MA, John F. Wolf of Upton, MA, and Matthew G. Wolf & his wife Beverly Phillips of Nantucket, MA.  Predeceased by her beloved daughter Joanne M. Wolf.  She was known as Grammy to Julie A. Beebe, Jeffrey W. Jaworski, Amelia W. McQuilkin, Alexander Wolf-Jaworski, Justin T. Wolf, John J. Wolf, Krystin A. E. Wolf, and as GeeGee to her seven great-grandchildren.

Her Requiem Eucharist will be held Saturday April 13th 2024 at 1:00 P.M. in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 55 Main Street, Wickford ( https://tinyurl.com/5ecs88ht ).  Burial will be private.  Calling hours are respectfully omitted.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory can be made to the East Bay Food Pantry and Thrift Shop at https://eastbayfoodpantry.org or to The Hospice Foundation of America.

Arrangements have been entrusted to THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD.
